When
Insults Had Class
These glorious insults are from an era before
the English language got
boiled down to 4-letter words.
The exchange between Churchill & Lady Astor:
She said, "If
you were my husband I'd give you poison."
He said, "If
you were my wife, I'd drink it."
A member of Parliament
to Disraeli: "Sir, you will either die on the
gallows or of
some unspeakable disease."
"That depends, Sir,"
said Disraeli, "whether I embrace your policies or
your
mistress."
"He had delusions of adequacy." -
Walter Kerr
"He has all the virtues I dislike and none of
the vices I admire." -
Winston Churchill
"I
have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great
pleasure." Clarence Darrow
"He has never been
known to use a word that might send a reader to the
dictionary."
- William Faulkner (about Ernest Hemingway).
"Thank you
for sending me a copy of your book; I'll waste no time
reading
it." - Moses Hadas
"I didn't attend the funeral,
but I sent a nice letter saying I
approved
of it." -
Mark Twain
"He has no enemies, but is intensely disliked
by his friends.." - Oscar
Wilde
"I am enclosing
two tickets to the first night of my new play; bring a
friend....
if you have one." - George Bernard Shaw to Winston Churchill
"Cannot possibly attend first night, will attend second.... if
there is
one." - Winston Churchill, in response.
>"I
feel so miserable without you; it's almost like having you here."
-
Stephen Bishop
"He is a self-made man and worships
his creator." - John Bright
"I've just learned
about his illness. Let's hope it's nothing trivial."
- Irvin
S. Cobb
"He is not only dull himself; he is the cause of
dullness in others."
- Samuel Johnson
"He is
simply a shiver looking for a spine to run up." - Paul Keating
"In order to avoid being called a flirt, she always yielded
easily." -
Charles, Count Talleyrand
"He loves
nature in spite of what it did to him." - Forrest Tucker
"Why do you sit there looking like an envelope without any
address on
it?" - Mark Twain
"His mother should
have thrown him away and kept the stork." - Mae West
"Some cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they
go.." -
Oscar Wilde
"He uses statistics as a
drunken man uses lamp-posts.. . for support
rather than
illumination. " - Andrew Lang (1844-1912)
"He has
Van Gogh's ear for music." - Billy Wilder
"I've had
a perfectly wonderful evening. But this wasn't it." -
Star
lite, star bright, first star I've seen tonight
wish
I may, wish I might, have the wish I
wish
tonight.
My
sister taught me this when I was around 6 or 5,
I
wished for continued peace, to always have family around.
(sure
I used different words then)
Now,
it's more than a wish, it's how I live, peace, gratitude,
LOVE.
The
energy that I'm feeling, (I'm sure you are also)
has
expanded, it continues to expand. Channels are opened that
hadn't
exposed themselves until now.
Awareness
& clarity where a veil had been sitting, now with
the
veil exposed/removed, I'm witnessing this acceleration as a
quantum
leap into alter-net dimensions.
I've been
experiencing, (what I will call) time travel.)
Relaxing
into that quiet place where I'm the only one allowed.
While
there, through deep breathing, I've visited 'ME'
in
my 'new' home, speaking with 'me', knowing that 'me' in
this
3D world will have the experience.
I
went to visit today, I've declared this land as mine,
sharing
my vision with others, having them 'feel' the energy from me,
our
'SAFE HOUSE' awaits our arrival.
When
I transport myself there, I'm so giddy, when I was young,
the
family would go to the Pier in Santa Monica California
Pacific Ocean Park or
P.O.P.
As we so dearly named it.
Cotton candy, candy apples,
roller coaster.
.10c
a ride, the roller coaster hung out over the ocean. Loved the thrill
of it,
the
smell of the ocean. Wide blowing thru my hair, shifting from side to
side
in
the carriage that carried the cars up to infinity, the thrill of
racing down.
Daddy
would give the man another dime, I was in for the thrill.
One
more time, one more time.
I
talk about this 'Evolution of Consciousness' to very few,
being
most people are aware there's a 'difference' yet
they
truly don't have a clue as to what is occurring.
I'm
so grateful to have our Mayan Majix family.
To
have 'like' minds to share
our
dreams, family that resonates so we know we're in this as a
collective.
Interdependent.
The
way 'Villages' run, where everyone that resides here
knows
their purpose.
How
easy life is, being with the 'ONE', acknowledging source, being in
total
gratitude for every experience that is 'gifted' to each of us.
Without
each and every experience we've had, in the event
one
of the experiences had been different, who we are
wouldn't
be. We would be 'that', instead of 'this'...
and
of course, then the that would be this.
Its
all so comical
our
minds want to complicate everything, it's clear when I'm out,
clearly
off center, as soon as I recognize that I'm off center,
changing
the 'Chanel' becomes instant.
When
Maia (my granddaughter) was seven, Jo-e asked her if she
hears
stuff in her head that she doesn't like, without missing a beat
she
said, “Auntie, I change the chanel”
Maia
is 10 now, she's changing chanels all the time. She's amazing.
Awe,
the children.
