A Message from Tata Victor

Dear Mike,

I wanted to share with you and your readers  the celebration of the Winter Solstice in the south by the First Nations of Chile, SouthAmerica. In the Mapudungun(Mapuche language) it is called WeTripantu and in the Aymara-Quechua language is the Inti Raymi. It is the time of renewal, on the spiritual side is the time to renue our actions of the past period or the Old Sun and make new commitments to face this "New Sun."
Commitments with our own communities with our families and all  fellow creatures sharing this planet, our Pacha Mama (our mother earth). There were celebrations all over the south from the 20th until the 24th of June.

We are also happy to say that new generations are increasingly joining our rituals to learn about the values and life skills our ancestors bring to the table to face the challenges presented by  modern life...Challenges such as the pollution of our water and land, deforestation, monoculture, etc. But most importantly about community life, about sharing, about reciprocity and respect for the diversity of life in this planet...Finally, I would like to share with you that on July 5th we will be having a special ritual for children in a sacred site located in the Mamalluca Hill, near the city of Vicuña.We expect around 70 children to attend with their parents and hope to make it a permanent event thirteen days(one trecena)after the winter solstice.

In Friendship
Peace and Pacha Mama Consciousness
